Affiliate marketing for physical products

Hi Everybody, a question to the experts, I am setting up a referral websites for physical products (non download) to another site, looks like he is using a Zencart or similar platform for sales. I have an agreement for 10% of gross sales for the products sold.

To go ahead with the deal is it better to have a drop ship arrangement where the goods are sold on my website than the order placed with him.

Or is there currently third party software out there where my website can redirect to some how collect the commission on the sale.

Or would it be better for reprogramming on his side for the affiliate link to occur.

If anyone has an idea, please let us know

Not sure about Zencart, but there are lots of plugins/add-ons for many common website platforms (Drupal, Wordpress, etc) that will allow him to run his own affiliate program. You would then basically promote it as any other offer, like one you got from a network.
