Mistake: Momentarily thinking income/returns would last forever.
Lesson: Even when things are working, keep testing new offers.

Hello friend,

My big mistake was first I pray to Saraswati rather then pray to Lakshmi. I should of pray for wealth in affiliate marketing in begin and no pray for intelligence in affiliate marketing instead. This because intelligence no always turn into wealth.

However I not think many Americans have that problem. They most Christians and so only one god to pray for wealth and everything else.

Another mistake is spend too much time at refresh reports. Now only check one time a day. Before check many times. I waste 2 hours a day just to check reports. Now I use time to do things that can help make more money. Refresh reports too much is no useful. I waste time and no help me make money.

Good luck bro.

Rule 1 ( For me) : Never start a campaign the day your flying out for vacation, and then realize that you won't have any wireless connection for 2 weeks there.[/quotes]

something like this happened to me lol and I had the slowest connection to pause 100 myspace campaigns it was pretty brutal lol

When you start a new campaign, always set a daily spending limit. Set it small at first, only about 2 or 3 times the payout of the offer. Once you see it is profitable it is ok to increase and scale things out.

You can easily lose a lot of money in a short period of time if you have no daily spending limit.

1. Being afraid to risk money
2. Checking stats instead of creating new campaigns
3. Checking stats instead of optimizing landing pages
4. Checking stats instead of pruning bad keywords and setting bids on good ones
5. Trying too hard to make loser offers convert instead of just trying a new one
6. Forgetting to check my lp's with http://browsershots.org
7. Forgetting to check that links work and subids are getting passed

Thinking you have (but not actually double-checking) to upload the proper redirect files on several call-to-actions, thinking everything was fine and dandy... Only to realize umpteen clicks later that all visitors had been taken to pages with nowhere to go... Lol.

Live and learn.

Beginning this blindly, without any tech skills, and having to rely on fifth rate coders from third world countries at Rent A Coder. I have thrown more cash at these people than I care to calculate. A couple of them were outright nefarious and threatening, and I learned that even an hour spent on learning php will greatly enhance your skills.

Having made at least half the mistakes discussed in this forum, I learned that if you stop trying and learning you're really finished.

- checking landing pages in ALL browsers
- not geotargeting offers for international users
- never manage campaigns when under the influence of any substance
- being complacent with just a handful of really good campaigns, in other words, don't put all your eggs in one basket-- yet don't spread yourself out too thinly that it becomes difficult to manage too many campaigns.
