I have a friend who imports and sells watches to retailers usually.
He told he'd like to expand on a new sales channel: the internet
To give a little background: been in business for over 35 years, knows watches inside out. Has a very nice quality/ratio line and can get specialty ones. Basically, he can be competitive on price, stocks something like 5000+ models and can get specialty models.
I was thinking to suggest something like ice.com: coupons with affiliate links or something, where the client saves on the retail price, (or not), and the affiliate makes money. Get him some creatives done. I'm thinking, since he's the one importing ( no intermediate ) he has enough margin to give discounts and reward affiliates at the same time.
He'd be starting small. Can this be done on a small start? What tools, funds, knowledge, contact would he need? Is this realistic on a small scale? Minim requirements in terms of management tools?
Thanks
HH
