Ok so if you couldn't tell by the title, I'm kinda new at this whole internet marketing thing. It seems like its attracting a lot more people but only a few go on to actually make something of it and get paid.

The first site that sparked my interest was bux.to

I started looking into other PTC sites and they all look somewhat iffy...

I'm not sure what I'm getting at but maybe if you feel compelled to...share your story of how you got started and what steps you took to get where you are today. I'm not asking for a free ticket here I just want to hear from a forum where everyone looks somewhat reputable...

Thanks! :D

I was a broke student who was literally on the verge of starving. I had lost my job and was living in an area where jobs were hard to find. I decided to take a crack online because I had to, I had no other choices.

It worked (thank god). I made 2.8K running casino stuff that month, paid my bills and continued to expand and build iup.

Thats where I'm headed. I'm sick of working jobs like radio shack and places like that when I know how to run all this shit online I just need pointed in the right direction...cause I really hate stepping in bullshit and coming out empty handed ya know?

I actually got started on the other end of the equation. I was working as a business development manager for an ecommerce shop when the president walked in to my office and said, "Hey - go find out about this 'affiliate marketing' thing"... So, a month later we launched an affiliate program, haha. Once I started to see what my affiliates were up to, I realized that there was an entire world of opportunities that I hadn't ever really noticed. I wish someone had mentioned the phrase "affiliate marketing" to me years earlier!

Anyways. Fortunately, my background is as a web developer (programmer / db engineer, etc), so affiliate marketing was a good fit. I'm a coder though... Lots of successful affiliate marketers barely know HTML, but they're able to put things together smartly to build marketing campaigns.

Me too, with regards to background.
Unfortunately, my marketing ability sucks the eggs out of birds.
I may have to go the "build a thing for people who market things" route.
