Hello

I've just spent the week researching keywords using speech marks to gauge the competition in google. Now I've also been reading that people are using the allintitle to do research. Which should I be using and why?

Thanks

what are you reseraching keywords for? paid or organic?

For paid all you need is google's keyword tool. organic isnt my field so i won't give advice in regards to that.

organic search

I do use googles keyword tool, but you still need to type your keyword in google to gauge the competition

Look for that in this keyword tool.

P.S. Since you have been here for close to 3 years and only start posting.....uh...

"keyword keyword" is a phrase match search

[keyword keyword] is an exact match search

allintitle: searches for your phrase only in the meta title of the results. This can give you an idea potentially of how many people are optimizing for that keyword phrase.

First, stop using that playboy icon please

Second, yes, it's a component of keyword research. There's a lot of stuff that goes into it, but yes, allintitle is a useful metric to look at.
