Just setup a new campaign, set bids to 0.20 for placement campaigns.. or so I thought. In less than 30 minutes, blew through a daily budget of $3,000 with $2-$8 clicks. Apparently, my 0.20, was actually a 20.00.

Moral of the story, always double check your bids! Doh...

Make that $3,600... Google likes to go over daily budgets :(... let's see how high we can go! Yay

Happened to me too. I lost $1400 in an hour with $4.5 average CPC. I typed 5 instead of 0.5 and had a daily budget of $1500. Now I always triple check and limit the budget of any new campaign to $500.

My opinion is you haven't run campaigns if you haven't mistyped a bid :P Or had a server go down you sent a crapload of traffic to :D

I have lost 12k in PPC in the Health Insurance Space. I triple check now and havent had it happen since. It was also when I just started in the PPC space. On the bright side it wasnt my money but its was my job DOH!

I think you guys set your daily budgets way too high. I always start out with 100-200 daily budget and then adjust it from there if I need to. (Maybe a little more if you have to pay like over $2 a click.)

Dear Google,
Your interface has a bug, I entered .20 and when I came back later it was 2.00. I want a refund of the $3500 I spent. However, let's make a deal. Please allow me to run biz opps and sling berries and look the other way, and we'll call it even.
