Want to put the DB for Wordpress and other database driven sites on THE CLOUD (I hate that catch phrase BTW).
So, having used AWS for their CDN before, I figured this can't be too tough. Well, apparently it is for retards.
If I understand things correctly:
1. Deploy your RDS instance
2. Make sure the server IP is set in the security group
3. Make sure that security group is connected to the instance you want to use
4. Use the "endpoint" as the db host, enter db name, username, and password
5. Connect
Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me. I think I'm missing something.
So, does anybody have a WP install using AWS RDS? If so, can you straighten me out? I figure if I can get WP to work, I should be able to get other DB driven scripts to work as well.
I'm at wit's end. Have spent approximately 4 days reading, searching, reading, watching, and can't figure it out.
Help a moron out...please.
