We usually host it at our house and luckily this year is probably only going to be 10 people, including my parents, sister & boyfriend, and a few others. We've done them before with over 25 people and that's just insane. What are your plans? Those of you who are from the U.S. but live abroad, do you still celebrate with a turkey and all the accoutrement?

This yr the wife/kid/n' i will be going to my parents. Then on Friday we're having one here for the wife's side of the family; and thank god we're keeping the families separate, my wife's mother is bipolar and makes a habit of ruining stuff like holidays/events/birthdays etc..

Since I am not an American, and I don't quite like Turkey, I am going to Cali, and then driving down to Vegas from there :-)

I still have 2 sets of grandparents that host Thanksgiving meals. The wife and I will be having a big lunch with one side of the family and a big dinner with the other. We will be driving there and home again about 3 hours each direction all on Thanksgiving day.

I don't have any family in-state so I usually have a few invitations from friends' families. One year I did a gluttonous Thanksgiving dinner tour at 4 friends houses. I must have been a real asshole this past year because I only have one invitation.

Sometimes we go to meet at a family gathering with ton of food, or have a small immediate fam dinner etc. GF has to work on Thurs as she is in residency so we're just going to have a small dinner tonight with a friend.

Were going to try the Turducken this year. So its a duck inside a turkey.
Did I say I love America already.

I just asked an American friend of mine this same question and here's what she said: Her family is huge and this is the one time of the year they all get together. Every individual family has a particular dish they prepare and bring so that one family isn't doing all the work and cooking all the food. Every year they host it at a different family member's house and that works out well.

I rape a few babies and then I eat turkey, sweet potaters, stuffing, fruit salad, sweet ham, pie and ground veggies. Then I'm going to workout at my local gym to attract a mate and have a one-night stand in which I shall leave the money on the counter. :D

^^ You're really taking full advantage of that pic lately..aren't you?

I don't even know what thanks giving is and haven't actually bothered to Google it. I used to assume it was what Americans called Christmas. *embarrassed*

Not a huge turkey fan, but I eat a bit. If everyone likes turkey so much why don't they cook it more often?
