About 3 months ago my brother and his wife came over to our place (my fiance and I) with Jacob, their 8 month old (at the time), and at some point during their visit they laid Jacob on our leopard pattern area rug next to our chihuahua (Malia) and our dog started licking Jacob's mouth and Jacob eagerly returned the licks... haha. It was so funny that my fiance quickly snatched our video camera and taped the whole thing.
So, just for fun I uploaded the video to the America's Funniest Home Videos website on ABC.com a few days afterwards, then got a call from Melanie (the person who wrote the e-mail above) about 3-4 weeks later saying that the producers of the show were interested in the video and needed me and the parent of Jacob, which was my brother, to sign about 17 pages (consent forms and stuff) and that my video has the chance of not only being on the show but also possibly becoming a finalist and a chance for the $10,000 prize (and later on a possible $100,000 prize).
I got a call and e-mail from Melanie on Thursday letting me know that the video wasn't chosen as a show finalist, but it will be shown on the show this Sunday, March 8th, 2009.
Anyway, even though there is no prize money involved, it's still cool as hell and I've been watching AFV since the early Saget years.
