Another affiliate stole our landing page - what's the best way to stop them?

Most likely by the time you got ahold of the guy the campaign will be burned any way. Spend your time creating the next big thing.

Boo hoo, somebody found a more efficient way to make money. I know that plenty of people here steal lp's to test out offers. Not the end of the world.

it was probably me, I steal landing pages.
Can I steal your creatives too, or is that off-limits?

I hear more around here about ripping landing pages, and not necessarily creative. Is that just because more people use text ads?

Can some of you guys who have been having this shit happen to you or know more about numbers of times this is happening to affiliates who are members of WF only, per week or month get me some intel?

I want to take a better look at it and see if we can find a way to unfuck what could be a potential issue.. Big or small affiliates that are doing this blatant word for word copying crap is starting to get on my nerves and there is no reason for it.

As usual.. because no one else is doing shit about it, we will. You guys better be good boys this year otherwise Santa will leave you with a lump of coal and a concussion on Christmas.

DMCA notices don't mean anything. Its a request - if they don't comply you are going to have to spend a good amount of money. Even then they might not take it down.

Happens to me all the time. People steal creatives, js, even flash but it's internet, it was designed for content sharing. Like Matt said use it as an excuse to build something better.

The javascript redirect is a good idea. I'm gonna start putting that down my code pants.

Or you can get super sneaky, give the affiliate link an id and check that, then replace. That way they stay on their site and when they look at the code they see their affiliate link. Then encode the entire javascript part and put HTML comments saying it controls image rollovers or something.

Jon nobody gives a shit until their own LP gets stolen. I'm willing to bet that 85% of the members here, including many of the mods, steal landing pages. It's all part of the game.

Code it to check it (and change it if its different) every few hours, day, or whatever so they have time to make sure its working then hopefully they won't check it for a while and hope they do a lot of volume. Fuck adwords coupons for $100, just get people to steal your landing pages! Hello 100% profit.

Genius! I am going to do that on all of our landing pages. The guy would be paying "royalties" when using our landing pages :pimp:

So far, I know of 4 of our pages that have been stolen - and I am sure that there have been many more . It is a bit strange to see your own landing page when checking out the competition (especially if that competitor's ad appears right below yours) .
