Any success on the content network???

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success on the Google content network. I currently have a gift card opt in offer running with no success at all. I've written many ad copies and am currently trying some image ads. I'm getting impressions, not as many as I would hope, but regardless I have only gotten one click so far!! It's pretty frustrating. If you have any comments or suggestions it would be appreciated. I've read all of the resources to help me out on adwords.
 


Where would you suggest I promote this offer then?

I started with keywords and generated some pretty good lists for my five different adgroups. Then I began to manage my placements manually, again I did some research and added a lot of sites which should be getting a lot of impressions. I started with low bids then started to increase them little by little to see if I would get more impressions. I also looked at the demographics when setting my bids.

To be honest this is my first real campaign, so if you think it was a bad decision to start where I did maybe make a suggestion because thats kinda what I'm thinking.
