Anybody outsource SEO work, instead of doing it themselves and see results? I'm planning on getting some SEO work outsourced from somebody that is recommended by everybody that does good work. I think I'm too lazy to do it myself, and don't want to mess up a minor detail that can effect my ranking. I'm planning on trying this out on a small blog site, so there aren't many pages which makes the cost not as high.


Any suggestions or advise?
 


The number of pages doesn't have anything to do with the cost if it get deindexed. You could theoretically have a 5 page site that ranks very high for a keyword that makes you a shit-ton of cash, and getting deindexed for that would really suck.

Just be sure you know what they are doing for your site. If you think it sounds shady and you're not sure about it, ask someone you trust for their opinion. In the end, it's still your site, so you are the one that has to live with the results.
 
The problem with your question is that you're saying your "too lazy" to do SEO, so you want someone else to do it.

Essentially, your content IS a big part of SEO. If you hire someone to do some link-building for you, that's a different story. But if all they are going to do is go in and optimize your meta data (title, description) and rewrite your on-page copy, you might as well just do it yourself right the first time and save yourself the hassle.

I often see people looking into 'outsourcing' their SEO. My advice is that if you're serious about Internet Marketing for the long-haul, learn how it's done and do it yourself, and outsource the rather menial tasks such as link building.
 
I understand the part about content, I have some professional writers working on this. I'm not having the same people write the content that are outsourcing the SEO work. I do understand the basic onsite aspects of SEO as well as off-site such as link building. Outsourcing backlinks isn't a question, I do that now and will continue to.

I'm not sure about all that stuff, since I don't know anything about coding. Just basic HTML skills, but they're ghetto skills, nothing that I think could be "validated" or anything.

Maybe I can get a discount if I only ask for this stuff to be checked.

All of that is really simple and can probably be done in a day (even if your new and have no idea what any of that is). Just do all that shit yourself and outsource directory submissions, content creation, and article submissions.
 
I don't normally source out the actual optimization work, but I do consult with a few private SEO consultants. I also have a usability guy that I use as well to help design "people-friendly" websites.

It helps to have fresh eyes on some projects; especially when you stare at the code and the development for months on end.
 
You can and should learn SEO yourself instead of outsourcing it, especially if you are looking to build many more sites and stay in the industry for long. Why waste money everytime you launch a new site when you can actually do it yourself?
 
Looks like you've been recommended to the provider from India who's company name starts with A and ends with an O ;)

I've outsourced work to them before but all I can say is "Be careful bout the links you get"

How can you be careful about the links to get? It's really out of my control. Should I let them know ahead of time that I only want links from a particular PR, etc.. Which links are you referring to, "directory submits/backlinks", or inbound links? Any advise would be appreciated.

What the hell are you talking about? My blog is still currently being designed, actually it just got done yesterday. I have other things to work on, how do you know that I didn't take their advise?

Should I have stopped everything that I was doing yesterday trying to setup my WP blog, and working with my coder trying to find out why it wasn't working on my end, and post:

"Oh ok guys, thanks I will give it a shot."
 
I was responding to the person above me that posted, "be careful about the kind of links you can get" so I was asking him to explain what he means by that.

Time is the main concern and consistently working on new projects. If the site is going to make money, then hiring somebody shouldn't be a problem. If you know the niche you're targetting, and got everything right, and have done your research and think it's going to make you money. Then why not outsource shit you don't want to do yourself? Just because you know how doesn't mean you don't have other things to work on.

If your site isn't going to make money it doesn't matter if you do it yourself or hire anybody, you're still wasting your time. If the site is going to make money, then I don't see the big deal. If you're just throwing shit at the wall I can see why you'd rather do it yourself.

Also did you notice how I mentioned
