Anyone been emailed by intellectual property firm representing Oprah's producers?

Had about 5 of these so far, dont reply, remove the offending stuff asap and buy a new domain.

not worth messing with these guys.

1. Go into Paint.
2. Import Oprah .JPG
3. Edit Menu -> Compress -> Make Oprah appear thinner.
4. Lawyers leave you alone.
 
I wrote back and asked exactly what was wrong on the site.

He sited different legal references for each thing that I had on my site.

1. Video of Oz
2. Recommended by Dr Oz on one of the offers
3. As Seen On Oprah Oz Logo

I said I'll remove 1 and 2, but wrote back asking whats wrong with as seen on since Resveratrol was featured on the show. The best part the answer wasn't a legal one.

I wish I could copy and paste... but don't want to piss Oprah off anymore. But he basically said that " An average user seeing the logo may associate that those products were in fact featured on the show" instead of his usual legal references.

I have a disclaimer saying that this site has nothing to do with the show and will be talking to a lawyer next week to see if its really an infringement of their trademark.

At this point I think they are just bullying people around.

Will keep you guys posted.
 
HARPO took me to court and took a nice chunk of money out of my savings account..

i stay very far away from Dr. Oz, and Oprah now.

Dude, you should've listened to the masses and taken the shit down without question. I would be afraid, very afraid to even question her attorneys.
