Have half of mine tilled up now, the other half is being tilled this weekend. As a fun split test one section of garden will be treated with roundup prior the other not (Have been told by many people that the roundup will kill taste, so we'll see).

This will be the biggest garden I've done , one is 24x48 the other will be 20x80.

Locally I'm seeing many, many people till up their yards in favor of gardens. It's a good site to see, but I also see it as a sign of the times.

One of my plans is to can quite a bit of the produce for later usage and my prep stockpile.

Canning is delightful work, very rewarding. Also think about jellies and preserves, so versatile! My homeboy El Descuartizador makes a jalapeño chutney that is TDF (to die for!)

Currently have ~600 seeds started or waiting to be started.

My garden this year:

Seedlings
Kale
Broccoli
Tomatoes
Cukes
Peppers

Sewn directly
Peas
Beans
Gourds
Chard
Lettuce
Corn if I grow it, probably won't

I'm growing a lot of cooking and medicinal herbs this year too. Looking forward to the season!

Protip: get yourself some Azomite. The stuff is awesome. Stands for A to Z Of Minerals Including Trace Elements.

Hot peppers, at least 6 varieties, maybe more (ordering more seeds as we speak).
2 or 3 varieties of carrots.
2 or 3 varieties of beets.
2 or 3 varieties of radish.
Some lettuces, the girl bought the seeds, dunno what they are yet.
Assorted herbs, 2 or 3 types of basil, plus mint, thyme, chives, oregano, rosemary, bay and a couple others I can't think of just now.
3 varieties of marijuana, 2 each of Trance, Frisean Dew and Orange Bud.

That'll fill what space we have.

Bro the point to planting a garden is so you dont have to poison your food. Skip that roundup. There are much more healthy (cancer free) ways to split test. Go check out the survival podcast. Jack has a ton of useful info on "Permaculture"

Just planted 3 avacado trees, 2 pomegranate trees, 1 tangerine and 1 lemon. Not sure how many seasons to expect to have to wait for fruit. In the meantime, my neighbor has a ton of orange, plum, pomegranate, fig trees that are producing nicely at different times of the year.

Our house in on a canyon and our backyard is a slope, so fruit trees are a good way to utilize the space and should help hold the soil against possible erosion.

Why bother growing your own food if you are going to poison half of it?

Our garden was supposed to go in last weekend but it fucking snowed. Going to do it next week. Greenbeans, carrots, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, lettuce, peas, kale, green onions, cabbage, and a couple other things.

We are doing garden boxes again, but I'm also going to try a few rows of stawbales. I've heard good things so I'm excited to give that a go. Going to forceibly preseason a couple bales this weekend since I didn't do it in fall like I should have

My dad grows cucumbers, zucchinis, peppers, tomatoes, onions, broccoli, cauliflower and sometimes red potatoes. It takes him 10-15 hours per year of work and we save $2-3k from buying vegetables mainly because we eat broccoli and cauliflower at every meal.
