I was really looking forward to this, now that I've heard it I definitely think they took a lesser direction, but it may have been needed.

Either way their production quality is very impressive.
 
heh, ever since they announced the live stream now im just waiting for the vinyls to come out so i dont have to be doomed to a certain range of kbps,(gotta hear daft punk high quality) so far ive been listening to it all day for the past 4 days. Very good, a little bit different than homework, and discovery but they definitely delivered. Giorgio Moroder was a great collab and is a great song along with the 2 collab songs by pharrell. I also like doing it right. Very happy daft punk is bank in the scene hopefully they announce a tour, last time they were around was in 07 when they were doing the tour for alive 07.
 
^^ The quality on the kat.ph torrent listed above is quite good. Much better than the stream rips out there. I'll still probably pick up a WAV version from Beatport when it becomes available and possibly the vinyl.

That being said, I don't feel the album has lived up to the hype. It's certainly not the scrape my jaw off the floor stuff that Homework was the first time I heard it. I really expected more floor fillers, proper 4 on the floor pounding disco/French house, but it's slower easy listening in parts. Perhaps the singles will deliver in that regard.

sounds to me like they are doing lots of different styles badly and cheesily.
 
It's not the Daft Punk I loved as a kid, but I'm still gonna listen to the album a few more times. I kind of like this track:

Interesting. I've found that most of my favorite albums took at least a couple of listens to fully "click".
 
From what I have heard so far its just too soft for me. But I'll look forward to hearing more.
 
terrible disappointment. I probably won't even listen to it all the way through a second time.

Oh well, at least Digweed's Lithuania discs are coming out this month and those'll be some proper skull-fuck-your-sister club music
 
That Pete tong interview with them had them saying they might be remixing their own tracks.

I agree they are missing the 4 on the floor club fillers, maybe they are referencing to those with the remixes.
