Anyone ever try doing standup?

So the last couple of days I have been listening to some podcasts by comedians like the WTF, Pauly Shore Interested, Bill Burr's Monday Morning podcast, and Joe Rogan shows. And listening to these guys and the people they interview about coming up has put a bug in my ear.

I realize this is ridiculous thought. Im not attractive, witty, or funny. But I do know how to talk to people, and am not afraid of public speaking. And a pretty good bull-shiter. So maybe this might be something to fuck around with. I think it could help hone my social, and sales skills.

So anyone tried it? Did you go back? Thoughts?
 


jk, i enjoy your conspiracy posts and I love discussing conspiracy theories. you and unarmed gunman always come prepared.

I have tried it several times, and it's addictive but does not pay at all. At first i will pay $5 to $10 for a 3 to 4 minutes time slot.

Later on the club owners paid me $25 to $50 bucks, which was peanuts. I attended several training to get my feet wet.

You do get girls by the bunch, just try to select the cute ones.

If you can make fun of yourself in the beginning, you should get laughs. Depending on your location, look for open nights and just be yourself.

Please be prepared and don't think the jokes would just come to your mind while on stage. Practice in front of a large mirror and try to be lucid and not high while on stage, unless you're funnier that way.

Would I go back? Probably once I move to less taxing state. Give it a shot, you just might be the next super-star.
