I recently placed a bid on there on some cameras and won. To my surprise, I received an email 2 days later stating that if I don't pay within 24 hours, there will be a $200 cancellation fee. Fuck that. After reading a couple of reviews, I decided they were too shady to deal with.

Can they still charge my CC for $200? I can't find it anywhere in the TOS

What's your experience with them?

why, oh why would you give them anything other than one of those CC #s that expire after X days and has a limit that you impose?

Because normal people don't carry them, dur hurr!

Anyways, even if they do charge your card just file a charge back or tell your bank you lost your card and claim fraud, bada bing bada boom!

Liquidation is a big company; stock listed in NYSE.

Most of the sellers on there are wholesalers who liquidate "returned" or "refurbished" products for low prices. I did use them once to buy some electronics and they were pretty legit about stuff.

Good luck bros.

They're a 2.5 out of 10 on Liquidation.com / Liquidity Services Inc - liquidation.com - Reviews, Ratings and Prices at ResellerRatings

I've used that site for years to get an idea if a online shop was really shady or not. (when I worked at a camera store, we've had people try to say they could get better at royalcamera.com , to which we showed em the above site, noting they were one of the popular fake new york shops).

Course only 3 reviews on the site above, they used to have a break down of the ratings such as shipping, return, cost, etc.

one of my companies makes regular purchases from different vendors on Liquidation. Been doing it for years with no issues.

Why not research before you place a bid???

Why not research before you place a bid???

I just noticed the cancelation fee in the TOS... if the OP wasn't planning on immediately paying upon winning, why did he bother bidding in the first place having in theory read the TOS.

@OP Yes they can charge it, then you can charge back, then they can dispute with your CC company, and so on and so on. But if it was in their TOS, then its probably in best interest to hurry up and pay for what you intended to pay for from the start.

I meant research the damn company you are placing the bid with. Find out first that you feel they are shady. Don't wait til you win the auction - do that shit before you hit submit.

IWhen is my payment due?
Payment by winning bidder is due immediately upon the closing of the auction. This payment includes the full amount of the winning bid, the Buyer's Premium, and finalized shipping charges. Payment must be received within 2 business days of auction closing to avoid any penalty and/or cancellation.

Is there a penalty if I don't make my payment on time?
There is a cancellation fee applied to any late payments. This fee is 15% of the auction lot price or $200, whichever is greater. If we do not receive the funds or payment within the specified timeframe, your transaction will be aborted and your account will be suspended.

So looks like its always 200 and up (double checked cuz sometimes there's an 'or' ). But two days eh? :p I guess they don't wana be an ebay and have a good % of buyers wait two weeks before they ever send shit.
