Just wondering if there are any in this forum?

If so, how are you guys doing with your sales this month?

My buddy owns one. He's about to go under. But he's dumb as shit.

I tell him go for volume. But he wants to make $2k+ a sale instead.

Father manages a used car lot. Last month and the first week of this month were slightly below their numbers last year. Talked to him about a week ago - I doubt much has changed since then.

I did corporate vehicle sales for a Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership for 14 years before doing AM full time. A few years ago the money was so good it was just stupid. Myself and 2 other guys would do 75-100 cars a month without even blinking. When I quit, it was a struggle to do 30 a month. Now it's a complete grind to make a paycheck, hence the reason I got the hell out of that racket last year.

Couple of my buddies still doing Fleet sales said last month was absolutely horrible. I hear that used car sales have gotten better, but new car sales, domestic and import has not recovered much.

Used car prices are up - universally. Prices are high enough at auctions that some used dealerships have put a hold on buying more inventory.

Also there are not many numbers yet for September. Traditionally though the first week of the month is pretty bad because incentives/programs dont come out until a few days in and incentives/programs are what sell cars. Most cars are sold towards the end of the month.

yeah, i have a few friends who struggled to make sales last month but there was a few that weren't affected by it that much.

Call CHOPPER of Towbin Automotive. After all, he is The King of Cars.

The guy's a douche. I've talked to him on the phone before, trying to get one of his underlings (probably blue genie) to help me with a dealer trade. He couldn't be bothered and basically told me to take a hike and not call back. I remembered that shit a year later when someone from his Dodge store was begging to trade me for a Challenger SRT-8 that we just go in. I told the guy to have Chop call and I might think about it. Never happened.

i worked for a mega dealership the summer that hurricane katrina hit..it was good times. that was when the suv bubble blew. After katrina hit, gas prices doubled, and everyone was selling back there hummers. i quit 2 weeks later...I only stayed that long for a pizza party
