Got a sick car in California or close by that you want to race on the track?

I'm checking to see if there was any interest to rent a race track for a day in Southern California. There are a couple to choose from. There is Buttonwillow (Buttonwillow 2007 Calendar), and Auto Club Speedway (Track Rental - Auto Club Speedway) that are well known down here.

I've been to Thunderhill up in Northern California (Event Schedule) and it's great because it has no walls so you have a large buffer for errors. It's a lot of fun. I would be down to do this up north too. There is also Willow Springs and Infineon to choose from.

It seems that to rent one of these tracks it would be roughly $4-6k plus deposit.

I'm sure we could get some pretty cool cars out for a fun track day :)

Hi hardcore -- I rented pocono raceway a few years back for $250. There was only One other car there and we split sessions so I was solo-- that include an ambulance standing by too of course ( insurance regs -- and just a damn great idea too) This didn't include my racecar rental a FF2000 national car of course.

I got it sooo cheap because I went through Bertil Roos Racing school which is contracted @ pocono -- it was an off day for them and also VERY late in the season like Oct. 2nd if I remember right.

Try contacting Skip Barber to see if u can get a similar deal or just join the SCCA for like a hundred bucks or ANY car club and you'd have accesss to a track day. For a very nominal fee.

PS: hope u don't mind me jumpin into ur post --and my hands are sweaty just contemplating a few hot laps in a great car -- best sport in the whole fuckin world... have fun!
