After hearing all these lawsuits, fines, ftc, getting arrested, being sued and other issues regarding ringtones is it safe to promote ringtones offers anymore or should I find other offers to promote online?

What about using the word "complimentary" in promotions? Is that allowed or not since its a synonym of "free"?

My affiliate manager for one cpa network told me it was fine to use the word "complimentary", but with all of the heat lately im not sure if you would even want to use that. Maybe try "bonus".

They are only after the guys doing "deceptive marketing" aka offering ringtones as FREE when they aren't, and populating the forms with cell #'s when the user didn't fill them out.

Also, I just heard from one of the investigators that they are NOT targeting affiliates, just the ad networks that gave them the okay's on it.

I signed up for one of those complimentary ringtone deals, but all I got was a bunch of ringtones with voice recordings saying "You are gooooood looking!" and "You da man!".

Damn I'm tired....

i do great with ringtones.. more than 200 sales/day. But I follow ALL legal guidelines, and and am very careful about wording, clear pricing, etc. If anybody wants to try a direct deal (no lead gen. network) with a new provider, let me know- jonah cat flickermedia.com
