I've been trying some things here and there and quite a bit of stuff failed. In fact almost everything failed and I lost money.

So I'm kind of feeling a bit down. Like can't find motivation to keep pushing further and keep testing.

So... the big question is how can I bring motivation back? How do you guys deal with failures?

At this point, a lesser man would quit. But not you, int_josh! You will push on, learn from your mistakes, and eventually break through!

The problem with thinking about all the stuff you want to buy is that it can also make you depressed because you're not there yet and you don't know if you will ever get there.

If you need motivation, just scan the various forums for all the posts by what appear to be complete idiots who are making hundreds to thousands a day.
If they can do it, you can do it better.

And... remember those words of wisdom I've seen so many times by the people here who are making it happen: You will fail at the beginning, a lot. It's all part of the process of learning what works and what doesn't. And yeah, it costs some money.

I'm in a similar place, a bit bummed that most stuff I've tried isn't working, but I now have a couple of campaigns that are slightly profitable, so I know I'm on the right track.

just do something that cannot fail .. like building a good content site

Sounds like good advice to me.... In the event that I do lose motivation I do one of two things, start focusing on goals and things I dont have, but want, but wont get if I dont push on, or hit the bottle pop in a dvd and call it a night, usually wake up ready to go the following morning, or afternoon......

Failing is normal. The learning curve is quite steep. I started with "this" (affiliate marketing, content sites, arbitrage, etc.) in December. Spend 100+ hours building sites, testing, coding, reading etc and in the end made like a $50 profit. Awesome wage right there. In January I tried other things, failed a lot, wasted a lot of time, slept just the bare minimum and in the end I finally found one thing that worked for me and I made $250.

Now, in February I pushed that one "good" campaign hard, tested a lot (landing pages, keywords, ad copies etc) and raked in the profits (up to $2000 right now). But I also tried 10 other campaigns and/or niches that failed. Out of all the things I tried in 2 1/2 Months, only 3 stuck. Yes, these 3 will get me a niche chunk this month, but the point is:

You WILL fail. A lot. Everyone does. But eventually you also will find something that works for you. And then it is up to you to make the best out of it. It's not the smart ones that make big bucks, it's the ones that don't give up.

This is probably something you've heard/read a lot (I did as well), but in the end it's true. If I would have stopped in December or even January I would have never succeeded. And now I'm looking to hit $3,000 - $5,000 this month.

So just keep trying is all I can say! :)

I've never gotten depressed looking at a picture of a Lamborghini!

For practical advice, I agree with fenryr, build a content site. Just get some basic shit out there. You'll feel like you've accomplished something because the site can make money for years to come without you looking at it, even if it isn't much.

You have to take it as a lesson learned.. at least you tried, else you would not have known .. keep trying, you'll eventually hit something.

Keep moving, even clear water will turn into a murky smelly pool with no movement!

You probably have accomplished more than you think, find those accomplishments and list them.

Milton Hershey had 3 failed businesses, was unmarried, and was penniless at 28 years old! Milton Hershey's story (an article I wrote). Here's more from the Hershey's website.

hey thanks for support and positive wordz guys

It's true that failure creates success, if you persist. I suppose anything worth achieving is worth working for.

And just to set the point straight: I have no intention of quitting. Rather I have an intention to re-motivate myself. It's all good.

I keep hearing about your rants on few forums. You should perhaps realize that internet marketing isn't for you and maybe it's time for you to get a job.

Its having belief in what you are doing. My main site took years to make money (until Adsense arrived), but it was not about money when I first made it.

We all get down its part of life, plus with the internet something works one day then the next day it doesn't so it can get frustrating.

Exercise as mentioned earlier really does help big time. Recently I joined a fitness bootcamp, starting @ 06:15 for an hour. Since I have noticed I am so much more motivated, plus you feel better knowing you are looking after your body ...

Chin up mate

I get motivated from music. Depends what you like but these songs get me pumped up and ready to dominate.

Rock
Shinedown "Fly from the inside"
Adema "Do What You Want To Do"
Korn "Got the life"
Korn "Blind"
Godsmack "I stand alone"
Mudvayne "Dig"
Slipknot "Wait and Bleed"

Rap
T.I. "Motivation"
Lil Wayne "Stuntin Like my daddy"
Slim Thug "Like a boss"
Slim Thug "Boyz N Blue"
Mike Jones "Back Then"

Good Luck
