As gas prices creep above $4 a gallon, what are you thinking?

You guys are lucky in here we pay in europe like 5-6 euros a gallon ( that's like 8-9 dollars ).

I guess that does put it into prospective for us!

Only difference is ... you guys got big ass engines that eat tons of fuel ... in here cars only need like 1 gallon to ride ~30 miles ( at least mine doesn't consume more than that ) .

Thinking about setting my car on fire, getting the insurance money and picking up a new ZX-14R which will get 40 mpg and run 9-second 1/4 miles.

Im thinking that I love my 45 mpg hybrid even if making it is bad for the environment it is still pretty sweet. :D

I'm thinking that I still don't care and laugh while everybody else bitches about gas prices. I'm thinking that $4 really isn't that high of a price to pay to travel 20-40 miles to my exact destination on my own schedule. I'm thinking trains and busses cost more than that in many cases, plus you have to walk to or from their specified stops and be on their schedule. I'm thinking $4 per gallon is still less than I have ever paid while visiting family and friends in the Netherlands.

a friend of mine has a startup in san francisco which produce gas (actually oil) from algae. these people will be so rich in few years...

I think since most of us drive less than 0 miles to work we should not be bitching. Plus we can see that gas prices will keep rising - so put up a few more sites to pay for it now.

While your neighbors are struggling you just keep pretending your a bad ass drug dealer who sits on his ass and has a full tank :)

*serious*
I'm more concerned with the food raising - I buy a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk every single day. I spend more of freaking milk than most of you spend on gas :) Feeding 6 1/2 (my sister stays with us about half the time) people has gotten pretty expensive. I know if I was on a fixed income it would hurt....

Can't conserve food - gotta eat. I'm sure a lot of people with low incomes are REALLY hurting right now.

so what are some good hybrids besides prius? And is there such thing as a good suv hybrid?
