When did you decide to take your cash offshore? I am just curious when and why you decided to do it.

Also how do you manage it? PM if you'd like to chat in private.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I assume the tax rates are going to get even worse in the near future.

All the more reason to do just that. I didn't make my money so I could let the government redistribute it. But I'll be more than happy to help anyone looking to become successful themselves. Life is not a zero sum game.

You're going to get wrecked.

They're going to notice something, you'll get audited, you will fuck up somehow and you will get thrown into prison. With the government hiring more and more people at $74,000 a year to track people like you down, it's just a matter of time.

You can't even leave the country and go become a terrorist without getting hit with taxes.

On the positive side, I don't have to run faster than the government, I just have to run faster than you.

LOL. You're right. Gotta be smart about it...nothing wrong with hiding a little bit here and there, but anyone that thinks they shouldn't have to pay ANY taxes is ridiculous, and if they try to hide it all they will certainly be caught.

Being over-taxed is wrong, but taxes in general are good for everyone as long as the money is spent wisely.

Is that what they're paying Revenue Agents starting out?

You've just got to keep it where they can't find it.

Some gay affiliates here may want to start hiding money in their ass, just sayin'... But then obama might just reach right in there since he is pretty open minded. ;)

interesting post.. the offshore banking thing was easy 20 years ago now they are regulating more you can still do it but it's a flag these days for more than feds. There are a handful of advertisers that I'm dealing with that have offshore accounts I know this because they are the same companies I'm always chasing for money. So these days before I start doing business with advertisers or affiliates i do take that into consideration - 9 out of 10 times in this biz the offshore guys are shady and that comes back to bite you hard.Of course with taxes being freaking high i see why its attractive!

Which it will never be.

With government, at best, you'll have maybe 20% of the money collected being used in a proper, efficient manner.

Government is powerful, and that's about it.

It is not wise, it's not intelligent, it's not thoughtful, it's not a whole lot of other things that we wish it would be. It perpetuates itself, it promotes those who promote themselves, not those who merit those promotions with their ideas or ability. One only has to look at the last 20 years or so of leadership in the US to see that.

Power, especially the power that derives from the consent of the governed, attracts psychotics and sociopaths and other people with serious mental issues.

We have to assume that money collected in the form of taxes will not be spent wisely, because we have had no indication recently that the opposite is true.

Taxes, especially involuntary taxes, are never good for anyone other than those who cannot provide for themselves - just like having someone come into your house and take your TV isn't good for anyone but the person doing the stealing.

20% seems about right. I'm in Canada so I'm cool with about half of my tax dollars, since I've already used up my share in terms of schooling, social programs that all the children still benefit from and health care....where the other half goes is beyond me and I'm sick of paying that shit.

Or you could denounce your US citizenship for another country where you do not get taxed as a non-resident

I'm not from the US, but i heard that if your a non-resident of the US, you can earn up to ~80k tax free, but above that you gotta bend over.

Whereas non-residents of Australia or the UK are only supposed to pay taxes in the country you reside in. So if you reside nowhere... who do you pay taxes to? :) Maybe its the same with Canada?
