I live in LA too and when I researched a couple years ago, Mercury seemed to be one of the better ones in the area. All State's been ok for me in the past too.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up going with Geico. Mostly due to that adorable lizard, but they were actually surprisingly cheap. Yeah I had a bad experience with Mercury a while ago so they are on my blacklist. Haha.
