I'm looking at buying a house, and it's around 1000 sq feet or so, for grad school. Anyone have any figures on the average kWh usage for a house this size, any other info?

If anyone from Tallahassee could chime in that'd be nice too.

Call the local utility company and give them the address. They'll be able to tell you the average electric bill for the past 12 months.

Then again, if something like an electric bill is going to make or break your ability to pay for the house, you should probably think about a smaller (cheaper) living situation.

It won't make or break it, we're just trying to calculate out average monthly expenses.

Go to Energy Information Administration - EIA - Official Energy Statistics from the U.S. Government and compare average rates for your area.

Good time to buy a house if you can take your time, pay cash and hit fast. I just bought a 3/2 bank-owned property I'm gonna rent out, for a measily $50K, I shit you not. Nice side of a big metro, too. Already have a property management company screening renters.

Mind sharing any good resources you may have for locating bank owned properties?
