Wondering if anyone here has tried out iAd. I'm guessing probably not a lot, since the reported minimum buy-in was $1mil.

I downloaded the app they published (iAd Producer) and it looks like they're creating the capabilities to make some pretty advanced ads. They have templates for maps, installing iOS apps, and a bunch of other neat shit.

^Johns got a good point.
There's not a lot you can sell a person on a mobile device that justifies a $10 CPM. Big company budget branding sure but not anything that'll include filling out a credit card form or signing up with a dating site.

supposedly since the superbowl, fill rates have hovered at 80% for app developers. the eCPMs and such for developers have been pretty good, but it will dry up as advertisers realize a $10 minimum CPM is simply not worth it on mobile

Yep Pj is correct but will branders continually advertise on iads simply to "get their message out there"? For direct response or something more aligned to our business models it makes absolutely zero sense to bother with a $10 cpm on a mobile platform with a 1 million dollar minimum buy. At least it's cpm though, these snakes charging cpc on mobile when half the clicks are accidental is even more of a jip.

iAds is deinately targetted towards blind "Brand" building campaigns which care less about the ROI. More like pepsi, coke, some disney movies etc
