Best CPA network for physical products?

Hey guys,

I'm going to add my product to a CPA network in a few weeks.

It's a physical electronic device and I will be selling it CPS not CPL. However, it has great mass appeal and I'll be selling it CPA-landing-page-style. Around $50 with ~$25 commissions (that's with little profit for me). Upsells will be related software.

What would be the best network to put this on? I'm thinking Azoogle/Epic or NeverBlueAds at this point, but I'm open to ideas. My gut feeling is that CJ/Linkshare would not generate ROI. I found AsSeenOnPC.com but they look really small.

P.S. I haven't done CPA in forever, so from an affiliate standpoint... what do you think about a merchant accepting Paypal? I know it screams "small business" but this isn't a rebill offer, and I already have a great relationship with Paypal.

No, actually my concern is more that with a huge network like CJ, my offer would get "lost" and wouldn't be worth all the fees they charge. They have tons of fees compared to a CPA network like Azoogle.

I already know the niche is extremely profitable because I have 2 successfully websites in it already.

lol :D Okay, then, I have an 'adequate' relationship with them.
 
CJ or Linkshare are great if you can offer a coupon - they're hugely driven by coupon sites. CJ can be expensive, but there's a huge base of coupon/deals publishers that get weekly emails with the latest offers from their CJ managers.

Also, you might think of offering PayPal as one payment method (if you run their merchant account-style account), but if you ever seriously considered just using PayPal, you might as well just kiss all of your money goodbye...

Merchant accounts are dead cheap ($10/month) & you'll get better rates - so why just do PayPal?

The question is why not? You can get merchant acct rates as low as 1.9% (mine's currently 2.2%). There's no monthly fee. I can customize the payment page with my own logo and site colors. Buyers don't even need Paypal accts.

I don't see any disadvantage...
 
I also agree. I have been using paypal..if the customer wants to buy then they will buy regardless of what the merchant account is.

PayPal has been known to hold payments & generally screw with money if they receive one chargeback, suspect fraud, or anything. With merchant accounts, you can customize the entire checkout process & you're not at a company's mercy to hold payments - unless you're doing rebills or something sketchy that will trip alarms. 48-72 hours after payment, that money is safe in your account.

Just search online for the disadvantages of only using PayPal. Did I use them fine for years with over $100k of transactions? Yes - but I'd never do it without my own merchant account as a payment option.

Of course not, you've never pushed any real volume through your account.

Wait until you've got 10 grand sitting it in, payroll is tomorrow and some fuckface files a random chargeback and they lock your account for a month while they "investigate suspicious behavior".

Bullshit, depends how much weight you have.


Anyway, I would go for Linkshare over CJ with managed acct once your numbers warrant. CJ may insist on exclusivity, and they have (what I consider) relatively large management fees.

With no exclusivity from LS I would also try neverblue / cxdigital / azoogle making sure the networks all get the same offer and hope they don't cut-throat, otherwise you'll end up with no traction on the lesser payout networks.
