I'm new at this... I'm looking to sign up multiple CL accounts and I want to have new IP's for each account I create. I've downloaded SwitchProxy for FF and have been looking for lists of IP's to use.

My question is can I trust using anonymous IP's - will they steal my info or do I have anything to be worried about?

What's the best place to get a list of IP's to use? Any suggestions?

yeah, I figured I'll get what I pay for as far as IPs...
Do you do web stuff full time or as a hobby? For me just a hobby, I'm actually at work right now ha ha!

I'm a software engineer full time, mostly doing asp.net, sql server, voxco web surveys, sawtooth web surveys, etc. I actually live in Milwaukee now (went to school here) but my family is still near Lincoln. I do websites as a hobby as well.. PHP :)

I'm at work now too, lol.

Random idea : Drive down town with a wireless laptop, connect to unsecure wireless and sign up to your accounts. Anyone who leaves it open usually isn't wise to be monitoring the traffic.

What's CL?

@zimok thanks for the idea - that would work. trying to find the safest/easiest/quickest way to change IPs without leaving the house tho.

CL = craigslist

You will either have to buy proxies or auto change your own ip every post (that depends on your isp though)

@turbolapp
so am I safe using proxies from some of the proxy sites out there (ex. proxilists dot net) and using a firefox addon (ex. switchproxy or foxyproxy)?

What do you do? Have you done this before?

Get dial up or a wireless card for your laptop. Thats the only reason i got the laptop card for. Verizon $59 a month, new ip every time I log on.
I think cricket is even cheaper.

with tor though remember that anyone can host a tor node, which when connected provides them with a front-row seat to all your traffic, cookies, passwords, etc....
