In the last year my wife (school teacher) has had her salary cut to the point of us loosing $750 a month take home pay. I'm looking for ways to fill in the gap since it looks like it's only going to get bigger next year. I'm not looking for a step by step, just a starting point. E-mail marketing, blog with ads, AM, all of the above? :1zhelp:

Thanks

There is a ton of information on this forum and all across the web on starting websites... You are just going to have to find something that interests you (or even something that doesn't) and just jump in. One piece of advice that I will give you, is that you shouldn't be afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone. Some of my best earning sites are about topics that I am not particularly fond of. However, they bring me money, so it doesn't matter if I like them or not, if it brings me money, I am all there.

While it is awesome that you are taking the step to make some more money, you literally have to do your own research, find what works, implement it, then rinse and repeat. Like you said, no one is going to give you the step by step or even tell you what you should do, you really just have to find something and start doing it.

Best of luck to you and your wife.

Take it easy!

Honestly, you want to make some money while you learn some long-term strategies. It took me a year to make $30 a day on my first site. So I would suggest to find a service that you can offer other IM'ers while you get up to speed on this.

Now, let's look at what your good at.

Wife is a teacher.

Ok, so I am assuming she can write really well researched articles. You wouldn't believe how much money is made in this niche alone. You could actually turn it into an entire business model. Offer PLR, become a ghost writer, find any traffic source on the internet where you can position your new business in from of your target prospect. This forum is a good start, but start seraching for more. You know where the others are if you found this one. Offer free articles and when people see that quality, (wife is a teacher) you will have them coming back for more...but of course, they will want to pay you.

I have been doing Internet Marketing (IM) for 7 weeks. I thought I will be easy money. So far I earn only $30, about $1 per day from adsense. Far below my expectation. I was building a micro niche website with exact match domain name (EMD). Next step, I am going to apply to a few CPA networks. So far I spend about $200, mostly to buy tools, domain, hosting and proxies.

Depending what is your budget for IM, you can start with a free blog account and put ads to monetized it. Or you can buy a domain name at namecheap ($10 per year) then a hosting at hostgator (Baby plan: about $6 per month).

Since your wife is a teacher, you might look at some math and science niches. I haven't researched them, but I have a feeling that they would be underserved. You could start with a single subject, and gradually develop a more comprehensive site. Sticking with a single niche works, too.

The fact that she has teaching credentials and experience would give her a real advantage in developing an authority site. She is an "authority" on the subject.

I think the best advice is to choose programs where money is guaranteed for the work you put in rather than waiting around for success on your own terms.

"...where money is guaranteed...", what sort of programs are they? I am keen to explore futher.

Is it writing articles or building backlinks for others? or a-press-one-button-autopilot-money-machine?

I'll forgive the fact that spider's reply is totally against the entrepreneurial mindset (which should be the endgame in my opinion).

What he's saying is that you should focus on things where you deliver something to someone and are paid for it.

Examples of this would be: article writing, writing PLR to sell, coding, basically anything where you are a contracted worker.

Anything like AM, SEO (unless on a contracted basis) is something where you may, or may not, be paid for your work.

Not saying I agree with the idea, but that's what he meant.

If I were you I would start out with some contracted work to make up for your cash-flow shortage. Make sure that you are still making money each month.

Once you have that taken care of, you can afford to spend money trying to learn about AM, SEO, PPC, or one of the other acronyms that us gay webmasters like so much.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will have do to some digging and see what I can find. I honestly didn't even think of going down the "contract worker" path. Real face palm for me.

Thanks again!

This might sound lame, but you could get started on Facebook while you're working on developing a website. If you aren't already on social media, I'd focus on my own site. However, if you already have a large contact list, that's a starting point if you're looking at contract work.

Well I do not know if you would be up to this but I am looking for folks who would be resellers for my services. I own an internet marketing company and we offer a very wide range of services. I am looking for persons who would take our services and post them on their own sites. They would reprice them and have clients pay them directly and give us our stated cost. The prices for our services are already very low and were made so low to encourage resellers. The website can be found at http://globalimproviders.com. If you have a website, maybe you can give this a shot. Let me know.
