Buffer Sites & Google Panda?

Hi,

I've used the advanced search option to see if I can find the answer to this but can't quite find what I'm looking for - wonder if anyone could kindly help on here?

If this question seems a bit dumb then please accept my apologies as I'm very new to blackhat tactics. If there is a thread that answers then please point me in the right direction :)

My Question Is This:

I have two conflicting pieces of advice being given to me. I have been told that the best way to get a 15 ish page, brand new site ranked is to get 100 dofollow social bookmarks and then blast the bookmarks with 1K links p/day then to do 200 blog posts (on a blog network) and divide the link blasts 50/50 between the SB's and the blog posts. I've also been told that should my site get sandboxed to just keep going and keep the link blasts steady and it will come out of the sandbox even stronger.

The other advice is telling me that that method doesn't work anymore since the Google Panda update and is a sure fire way to get yourself sandboxed. This advice is also telling me that once you're sandboxed it's a massive job to try to get out of it and will also risk a Google penalty as well.

Who's right? This is my first attempt at walking on the 'dark side' of seo and I just don't want to make a pigs' ear of it!

Help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is no definitive clear cut "best" way to rank a website, if there was everybody would do it and SEO would be a lot easier. However, we do know that adding inbound links to our websites (backlinks) have shown positive results.

Your first piece of advice is a specific strategy that may or may not work, the only way to find out is to test. I don't believe I've ever been "sandboxed". I also feel that term is overused and abused, but I have been through a few dances with Google. I was told the same thing you were by some very smart people - keep building links regardless of ranking, and you could bounce back.

The Panda update didn't give links negative value, so regardless of any potential devaluing of specific variables (which you shouldn't be believing unless there is well documented evidence, or you've tested yourself) you should continue to build links.
 
Thank you both for your responses. It was only because I was told by the second that the first method was a 100% no no that I asked the question. At least I know that is not the case :)

I am looking to learn from others more experienced than myself on these strategies but also pay it forward to others who are in my position now in the future.

The best thing to do is just to experiment. like Staccs above, I too have never been sandboxed and it is my opinion (many will disagree) that as long as you arn't building hundreds of thousands of links a day, just direct them at your main site. It's more about building them constantly than it is about size. (Again in my opinion).
 
Everyone doing SEO should experience the sandbox, but preferably on a site which you don't have a lot to lose from. You can't test the boundaries of SEO without making some mistakes. Yeah you could plod along and doing things safely, but you will be surprised at what you can get away with, and works well. Pushing boundaries and learning some of the limits can also decrease the chance of you messing up with sites of importance, while still getting the most out of your link building.

I use scrapebox, its a great tool and you should find it for $50 with a discount but don't forget the price of private proxies every month.

Scrapebox is also great for finding these but if you don't have it and want to do it manually you can download "Angela's and Paul's Backlink Packets" at many sites. Or you could just buy from someone in the forum.
 
To some extent, second person is right. You website wont get sandboxed but surely will get banned for spamming.

Black hat techniques are really alluring but the final results are definitely not good. You are going to work against the guidelines and you definitely have to pay for this later.
 
Info in this thread sucks. Build some good quality links slowly then ramp it up over time. OR build a site you dont care about and test for yourself
 
In my opinion, there seems to be quite a bit of misinformation in this post.

A look in the Buy/Sell/Trade services section would suggest that blasting your money site, let alone buffer sites, can be done with absolutely no issue.
I'd be keen to hear the theory behind how blasting Social Bookmarks could possibly result in your money site getting sandboxed???

I do what I consider fairly conservative sized scrapebox blasts (from 1,000 to 6,000 links at a time) both to buffer sites and direct to sites and have had absolutely no problems.
