I would like to build a site like shopping .com for my vertical. CPC business model.

Since I am very new at this what are some things I should consider?

How is the best way to get started?

How do I get resellers and other merchants to start advertising with me before I start driving traffic to the site?
 


set up an affiliate account at like cj.com or linkshare.com and apply to various merchants. then you can pick out products or use datafeeds.
 
I found a couple of sites that have affiliate programs, but what if I want to other sites without programs, how do I approach them?
 
may be hard if you're just getting started and have no past track record of sites and no traffic already. good question though.
