I have looked through many yellowpages databases on the internet charging outrageous prices. Many of which have been developed from scraper software that EVERYONE has.
I have been developing a database to be the engine for niche websites which is complete after many many hours of work. The database contains every state in the US and province in Canada and is many many millions of records, even after garbage is removed. The database is compiled from 7 of the top sources for business listings in canada and the US and has PERFECT structure and normalization. I've run algorithms that I developed to do the following:
Remove duplicate listings in the same category and subcategory
Format every listing for perfect standards and consistency
All garbage text such as html tags has been thoroughly checked for and removed
If two sources contain the same listing, two sources are compiled into one, that contains the most info available
Each listing is mapped to a section, category and subcategory, The database includes 4 tables total
1)Section Table(16 Sections),
2)Category table(128 Category) which is linked to Section table with a foreign key
3)Subcategory table (1046 subcategories) which is linked to the category table with a foreign key
4)Business table which houses all of your listings.
each section, category and subcategory table contains MANY keywords which will help a lot for SEO and to help the user find what they're looking for. You can take a loot at the structure in the image below.
Important: This database represents a lot of work so I am selling it by state / province. I've searched for nearly every local listing I can think of in all the cities I've been to and cannot find one that isn't in it. Buying one state will give you the ability to create a VERY profitable, SEO friendly, concise and up-to-date niche site or directory...or both. This data is not reseller crap and no one person on the internet has a copy of this but me and I want to protect it and you, by not selling the entire thing. I've purchase 2 off ebay in csv format that were obviously created with a yellowpages scraper. This was to see what competition I had and what I can do to improve the database. Absolutely useless in my opinion. This database is built using scraping, but 7 sources, as I mentioned to make sure the data is the most current and information filled.
