Hey all,

I've searched the forum and Google, it may be the way I am phrasing the question but I can not find anything..

I'm looking at buying a fairly high page rank domain only( PR 5 ). No site is included.

My concern is that since I will be using the domain with a new site and new content how will I go about keeping that nice high PR? I don't want it to just suddenly drop.. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much for your time! Hopefully you have some good pointers :)

Thanks,

I plan on using it for backlink juice to another site! So your suggestion is use the old code, is re-purposing it by say: using a wordpress blog with unique articles; a bad idea?

there are some sellers on DP but they seem very shady, auctions are usually the best place to buy

I've purchased close to 100 high PR domains. My tips:

1) Get private whois immediately after purchasing and/or the auction releases domain to you.
2) Put up at least a couple of paragraphs of unique content. Write about anything, and put a link or two to your money sites.
3) Make sure you buy domains that have higher PR links than the domain you buy. If you buy a PR5, it should have at least 1 PR6 link and preferably more. They should also be links that are unlikely to be removed. For example an archived news article is a perfect link, it will never be removed. A blogroll link on a site that's actively updated is the opposite.
4) Do not post dupe content to your sites. Panda may affect the value of the links on the site.

That's all you need to do to keep PR. I've gone through 2 PR updates and usually only have a few drop a point or two.

Uhm, always buy domain with exist backlinks, PR8 with no backlinks still not worth against PR6 with 2000 backlinks. Remember that :)
