Hey,

I'm thinking about buying a new domain name for a site I plan to build around some ink cartridge offers through Copeac. I know Google doesn't seem to like new domain names, but this would be handy because it would be keyword rich and seem more like a "real site". My other option is to use the domain that I host other stuff off of, and set it up something like this: bakemedia.net/ink/buy-ink.html. As far as Quality Score is concerned, is one better than the other? BakeMedia.net is about 1 year old, but would having the site located in a sub directory affect my QS? Would the QS just be for the top level domain name or is there a different QS for each file?

Also, I plan to add multiple articles, to improve my QS.

You're better off to get a domain that has serious keyword value.

I can get a "great" quality score on a domain that is less than 15mins old, just by having a keyword in the domain, excellent ads, and tightly targeted adgroups.

Don't freak out over the QS, just do what google wants you to do and make small targeted groups. Even if it takes you a week, fucking do it and you'll own some bones out there.

I recomend you buying a new domain so that you can do the SEO all by yourself which Google loves and then go for sale thorugh affiliate marketing. :)

You can also look for an expiring domain that might have some links still pointing to it.

I picked up one about a year ago that still gets 1,000 uniques a day because it was listed on some forums.

I have experience with new sites doing well within a year (one in my sig) but it has a way to go to catch up to old sites that had a lot of authority and link love.

Go to Tdnam.com, all the expiring domains there are at least 1 year old registered at Godaddy. Simply search your domain with the keyword "ink", or "catridge", or "stationary" and your done. :)

They are all right, but...

When you use an old domain, the old SEO value still exists... once you change all that, the domin is almost as good as new.

Besides, say someone was running AdWords to the site and got slapped... It would be useless to you.

I would get a new domain. 6 bucks and up, cant go wrong.
