This needs a rebill. It would be an excellent two step for teh grants moniez.

Any advs gearing up for this? I wouldnt have thought it a big reach for advertisers already in the grants space.

If anyone knows a nw that is running this or is planning to shoot me a pm.

I know how you all hate e-books. but that could probably do pretty well too. Some guide about how to get the most out of your trade in. As long as the payout is around $30 or so, I bet you could kill it.

I'm guessing some of the advertisers are worried about the backlash like what happened with grants being touted as a "stimulus package"

Would be an awesome short term offer. We already know that the cash for clunkers was on unsteady soil for a while but recently became flush with cash again.

What is there to rebill. You take your car to the dealer. You get either $3500 or $4500. What information can you package besides that?

The government has a tools to figure your cars mileage and eligibility its all too straight forward.

Run a membership based website that scrapes localised RSS feeds for 2nd hand cars that people can buy for ~$1,500, and then take in for the $3,500?

Carbitrage!

(If you use that as a name, I demand you send me some tequila! The good shit with worms in it... We can't get that here anymore *cries like an emo*)

I think you need to have owned the car for a year.

You need to have the car + insurance for at least a year I think.

just connect the people with shitty cars to people who want to buy shitty cars for $1000 and trade for the $4500. Use the 1 yr rule to keep them on the rebill.

How difficult would it be for a couple of us to get together and just create this? I can just call someone to get a recurring billing system set up for credit cards real easily (and for free for a couple months with no contract attached). Are there any good programmers here who could plug in info from different databases, like people with clunkers and people looking to sell clunkers? I could probably do this myself, but it would take a lot longer than someone who has more programming experience than myself. PM me.
