I wouldn't use cheap domains because in most cases the companies aren't that reliable. Use a company with reputation that won't screw over your domain like namecheap.
If you are looking for .com, .net and org, finding a registrar cheaper than godaddy is very tough unless there are some special sales. Namecheap, name.com etc comes up with sales every now and then.
But if you are looking for .in etc, you will surely find other cheap registrars (mitsu.in, dynadot etc).
