One of my now ex-friends was taking a ride with me today in my beloved H2 and I hit a bump. He was in the middle of rolling down the window as he lit a cig, and the bump caused his hand to bounce up on the ceiling cloth and leave a nice burn hole, which goes into the fabric pretty deep.
Did some research today and called a few local upholstery dealers.. they're all telling me cloth is not fixable, only vinyl through a patch kit, and I need to replace the ENTIRE ceiling of the car, which one dealer quoted me at over $1200.
I call bullshit. There has to be a way to fix this so it isnt really noticeable. I was thinking of taking a piece off from behind the visor thats the same size and gluing it on.
Anybody ever successfully fixed a cig burn in their car cloth? Didn't there used to be a patch on one of those TV commercials that fixes this type of thing?
