Anyone ever get one of these emails from cj.com?

CJ is currently investigating your account and has the following inquiries regarding your promotional methods:

Please explain in detail how and where you promote CJ advertiser programs.

2 days out from them cutting me a $30k dollar check.

Yeah, I have. I simply got a text/call, showed them SEO was my traffic source. Good to go.

You're the second person from Boston that I've spoken to on here today.

Good luck bro

Thanks for the response. I replied through their support center letting them know my methods and a handful of my sites. Hopefully that will do.

What prompts them to query this in the first instant out of interest?

I think it varies per merchant/manager. I know for me, it was a new program I started promoting that took off pretty fast. They just wanted to make sure I wasn't breaking the terms and conditions outlined by the merchant.

It depends on the merchant and their terms. If they feel you went against their terms, you're fucked.

I've had CJ eliminate entire payments at request of the merchant. Better luck with linkshare imo.

The worst part is that literally 99% of the money owed was made with one advertiser and the other 1% is from the advertiser that complained. All the sales are legit so either way I should get paid, regardless.

If it was a minor violation or a perceived violation due to vague terms, you should be fine. Had this a couple of years back, explained what I was doing and everything turned out fine. If you have an account rep, it goes smoother.

If this is your first time violating anything, just say it was a small mistake. There are so many advertisers with different terms, just say you got them mixed up :)

Update:

Check is on its way :D

Thank you for getting back to us so quickly with supporting information. We expired you from the ******** program since the advertiser was not comfortable with your promotional methods. We also notified them that you are not violating the CJ Publisher Service Agreement by using these domains because the page content does not attempt to represent any connection to the local ***** with similar business names.

Wow, awesome at least you got paid. I strongly dislike that the advertiser can gamble with pubs like that.

Yeah man I agree. After I received that notice I started searching around the boards for other CJ affiliates that received that notice, and there were quite a few people that were canned without getting paid. But I guess every case is different. With me, the advertiser received a complaint over nothing (all my sales were 100% legit) and terminated me... almost cost me well over 40k!

The perils of affiliate marketing.

Usually this means that an advertiser wants to know how you are getting so many
sales so they can copy your methods... no joke.

...well if things went sour you could have become Jon. But 30k is a good alternative to building...nevermind.

Why not kill the advertiser and promote your own product? Is it not possible with this item?

This sucks but it's great you have this issue resolved.

Maybe not let payouts get past 10k before advancing to help ensure to fiascoes like this in the future.

Strike may they again. Fool b u not.
