So this idiot lost $51 on Quibids, turns around and hires a legal team and files a lawsuit requesting class action against Quibids.

This is going to end in 1 of 2 ways: penny auctions are deemed gambling and the entire industry goes extinct in the US, or the plaintiff/lawsuit never gains traction and is laughed out the courtroom like the silly little child he is.

this is going to go 1 way. away.

Sounds more like a lawyer paid his friend to lose $51 on the site so he would have a class action and be employed for a few more months

I actually wanted to run a PA but unfortunately its already considered gambling here.

The judge decided that is was not an auction because the user has not enough influence to win a prize..

Doesn't make any sense at all if you ask me, all I see is an old generation which is scared of the web :-/

My first reaction to Swoopo when a friend showed it to me was that it was gambling. But then I realized that showbiz/chucky cheese does the same shit.

For example, those machines that if you hit the stop button when the exact right light is lit up, you win the prize. There are a few variations, but they are all the exact same concept.

It seems like you can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want as long as you can get people to trade their real money for non-monetary credits.
