Ok, so my assistant got this email while doing link building (has been edited for niche protection purposes):

Hi...thanks for your contribution to {spammed website that allows user contributed content} on {insert spam topic}. Why are you leaving that text and those links to the {insert website we are developing links for} here? just curious, as I love {insert spam topic}, but haven't thought of any connections with water management in the southeastern US

I had to rack my brains to find a connection between spam topic and his website, but I'm hoping he believes me and lets the link go. God that was funny.
