Hi,

I'm having a little problem with HasOffers. A client sent an email out 2 days ago, received over 1000 clicks according to my client's email tracking, and HasOffers reported 22 in the last 2 days! That is a huge difference.

We reported the problem to HasOffers earlier, who said nothing was wrong. Well, we put the tracking link through bit.ly in this case just to double check, and it shows over 400 clicks. 400 vs 22 is a huge difference.

Has anybody else come across this problem? Could it be in the system itself, in its settings? Is bit.ly lying too? Or is it time to move away from HasOffers?

:anon.sml:

So 300 clicks are coming from the same IP? or 18 clicks from each IP? I.E. my client is just trying to milk more money out of me and is committing fraud? Maybe I'm naive, but I"d like to think that is not the case.

I'm not sure i can check the ip in bit.ly. In HasOffers the IP can only come up on conversion...

I guess mine is on Gross clicks. As of now Gross clicks 29, unique clicks 15, bit.ly 474.

I really don't see how bitly can track more clicks unless people are clicking, and then closing the page immediately. Is there some way that an email client that opens the email triggers a "click" without the user actually clicking?

HasOffers got back to me, they are testing it but can't find any problems...

Unless HasOffers was flat out down (which I doubt as we use them everyday) then something is fucked up here, your numbers are way too far off it's not a simple unique vs duplicate clicks here. Either the guy sending them is fucking with you or a link is broken somewhere so double everything on both of those ends.

Mailers will always show more, but not usually this much.

It is possible that he has a clickbot that is not resolving past his initial redirect (if he redirected). Is he mailing GI or TLDs?
