Industry leaders are tasked with the responsibility to not only protect
the interests of their industry, but the
interests of the consumers who make their industry possible. Therefore,
in the interest of consumer
awareness, Clickbooth is asking that all members of the network
immediately cease use of the word
"news" in the domain names of sites being used for marketing and
promotional purposes. Over the
coming weeks, Clickbooth will be analyzing the use of advertorial news
sites by online marketers and
developing new industry standards to address this area of online
marketing. Please feel free to contact
your Clickbooth representative with any questions or concerns.

looks like the days of the farticle might be over...

I guess too many affiliates have "pushed the boundaries" for too long - having said that clickbooth will simply lose traffic to other networks who won't or don't give a fuck how traffic is sent to an offer.

Blah blah blah.

Some of us aren't in the US. Some of us don't give a shit what the FTC or Clickbooth want. Some of us have the intelligence to host our stuff in countries that don't give a fuck. Some of us have the balls to copy and better some offers and make 100% of the money right now, not 7/14/30 days later.

A download offer is 1 month away by finding the right programmer. A rebill info product is a couple of hours away by finding the right merchant account and CMS. A legit rebill physical product... well, I've just started so I'll report back later.

Affiliates, grow some balls, get some competive intelligence and make more money.

Reactions: Mr. Websites
here's what i was sent:

"Starting next anytime from next month-May the FTC will be cracking down on affiliate blogs, and apparently going after affiliates directly – if they can find. Here are the items the FTC will apparently be focusing on:

- -No ‘news’ in the URL, ie. acaihealthnews[dot]com etc – you’ve seen all the fake news blogs.
- -No reporters images or names on the blog – you know the girl everyone uses
- -No weather images or updates, making the site look like a real news page
- - No news logos, NBC, CNN, CNN, etc
- -No fake testimonials – although that was being investigated 2 yrs ago – and hard to disprove"

My clickbooth AM thinks the FTC is a worldwide organization. No lie.

Those seem like easy workarounds, but wonder if this one means no stock photos and fake names, or is this referring to using real news reporter images?

This man needs to post more.

Edit: And, LOL @ Clickbooth.

What did you think was going to happen?

This is happening. There's some networks on here that are still heavy into flogs and farticles along with a well known "Guru." They're pushing the envelope. And they're US based. Rich targets with a bullseye.
