thanks man... I hate to see a fellow person fall over money. Especially when all these people act like they're rich as fuck.... I mean, dude only needs a few $k

God damn I was trying to cut back on my posting here. :(

Donated $100. But as marketers maybe we can try and help a bit more. Like a previous poster said I would much more gladly pitch in more money going towards a Billboard, newspaper ad, magazine ad, etc.

People love feeling good about themselves by giving to the "less fortunate". If other people wanna get together to buy some advertising space or do something that could possibly generate more money then put in let's do it.

The same guy I was talking about that did the billboard had a website and got his story on yahoo news.. How to get national exposure or to get the attention of yahoo to do a story? This would go right along with the current health care stuff going on.

I'd love to donate but I'm not so baller at the moment :( I will however spread the word to my Facebook contacts etc.

One thing you and/or others might want to do is try to drum up some media coverage for this young man's story. All he needs is a mention on a national or even local news program or talk show and he'll have his shit covered in no time.

I know it might not be the best example, but Ellen Degeneres just got that lesbian chick 30 grand for little more than being a lesbian... just sayin.

Maybe get the family to really do some research and find a good fundraising company and we'll (Wickedfire) cover the bill?

Just an idea. I've never done anything like this so I'm not sure the best path to try and raise some more money.

Yeah, I wouldn't think it'd be hard to get some great media coverage with a well weaved story (cough, cough flog. Just kidding).

There must be some smart fuckers in here who know how to spam hash tags (is that what you call them?) on Twitter. Something like #helpmattking, once it gathers speed, should go viral.

Another little idea.

Another idea is getting a really good writer, a reporter maybe, to write a detailed article like ChrisS talked about weaving healthcare into Matt's story.

Then get it put on his site. Maybe also pay for a site revamp (just a bit, not to make it too commercial looking). And then get one of the Digg front page services to try and get that to the front page of Digg (which will gain more media attention).

It should, just like with the hash tag thing, take off once actual people start viewing it and I could see it being on the front page with a really well done article.

Can story's on digg still be manipulated to get on first page? This would over load the site and could go viral like that, they would need to kick up the band width.
