Confused about Google's sandbox punishment...

I have been trying to read up on SEO. A lot of stuff says that if you build backlinks to your site too quickly, Google will put it in the "sandbox". So, common advice is to drip content/backlinks to a site and hope that it gets decent rankings in 2-4 months (or longer).

On the opposite side of the coin, I've been hearing about products like XRumer, SEO Nuke, and Article Marketing Robot that supposedly are very effective at getting strong SERP rankings in a short amount of time by quickly creating huge numbers of backlinks/content.

Can we now build a massive number of backlinks in a short amount of time manually, as well -- with Google's blessing, or is there just some kind of loophole in these programs (or is there actually a good chance they'll get your website tossed in the sandbox afterall)?

First of all, thing like sandbox does not exist.

Second, for building backlinks manually you need some time... Massive backlinks in short time spam may lead to algorithmic penalty.

I agree with that.

The word "sandboxed" has come to mean a large drop in the SERPs for whatever reason, no one knows.

Ummm, you just said there is no sandbox for too many links too fast, now
you call it by a different name? I'm confused.

Wickedbucks, stop reading the silly gurus and seo preachers they are
mostly just blogging in order to blog and don't really know what else to say
so they repeat what they read yesterday on someone else's silly blog.

Instead, do a few searches for "how to go viral". Search for "chocolate
rain" and other virals. Read the reality, not opinions.

Then register a .info for $2.98, get a 1,000 link blast for a few bucks and
see if the site goes up or down. In other words, don't believe ANYTHING
you read about SEO. Test it yourself.
