The first thing is you need to have a lander. Google hates direct linking and it never does as good as landers. You need to explain what you are promoting. Make them want it just don't push it in front of there face.

Not to mention your ability to bid on keywords is totally fucked if you're using the same direct link target url everyone else is using.

Definitely get some sort of presale lander/jump page to push them to the offer. Tweak your adcopy (split test a lot of different combinations/psychologies) and you'll trim your costs down quite a bit.

You didn't mention if you were using Search or Content? If your using content your CTR is workable, start checking your site placements and cut out the shit sites.

If its search, .63% is pretty shit, whats your average ad position? Look at what your competitors are doing, you may need to bid higher in the beginning. If your aiming for top3 positions you should aim for around 10%+CTR.

With a $15 payout expect to lose/break even for a while to gather more stats.

your right im not being helpful because im only telling him to get out of a niche which has minimal profit in it on ppc. How do I know, because I tested it myself. So before jumping to assumptions and calling me obnoxious think before you type tough guy. And im not being helpful? These people are telling this poor guy to make a landing page to a $15 payout, are you joking me? The guy cant even get his CTR to 1% and you want him to build an LP? Very smart guys, good job. Fucking morons

you're a fucking retard

It's Search only and the avg. position is 3.6. It's a good little niche KW-wise, but I think a lot of the people searching are looking for info. on how to solve a technical problem and aren't necessarily looking to pay for one. The direct linking URL name may be discouraging clicks cause it sounds like a pay service. That problem can be solved with a lander/custom domain. The challenge will be to increase clicks without pulling a bunch of info. hounds who have no intention of buying something. Or is it better to pull everyone in, and hope some decide to buy?

PDX

If I were you, I'd leave the URL that sounds like a pay service to discourage info-seekers from clicking - You don't want clicks that don't convert. Use EXACT match (1 keyword per adgroup) so you can make sure to put that exact keyword in the ad, and that should help you start bumping that CTR up.

Also, make sure your ads have strong benefits.

Cool, thanks for the advice, I'll try this.
