cpanel backups

when making backups from cpanel does anyone encounter problems? i've made about 3 backups so far of the same site, but look at the sizes:

first backup: 170 mb
second backup: 110 mb
third backup: 130 mb

I use a download manager and each time it says 100% complete but sizes should all be the same.
 


Download the backups, untar/gz the files, and compare the directories to see where your discrepancies are. I always download my backups straight from the server (I've got a dedicated server) & I haven't used the download link in CPanel directly for an account in a long time, but that sounds a little strange.
