dating ads: Lead stripping

Hi there

since a few month i'm running a dating campaign with facebook ads.. The program does only lead payouts..
In August/September i got about 300 leads, in October it was about 500..

Now the programm affiliate manager told me that my lead do not convert into sales anymore. He sent me also the statistics..

In August / September they were about 20 sales, well thats not too bad in my opinion.. in October there was not a single sales he told me.. Thats very strange for me.. even when i changed targeting to only 25+ people, no effect. and i do run the campaign only 5pm - 2am.. Well i have to say that i have no insight into sales statistics, since only leads gets commission. so i have to thrust my affiliate managers words..

So now i get less then a half commission for my leads, and the affiliate manager promised me a bonus, if a sales happens..

Well now i'm still generating leads like hell, but my profit got really low..

Anybody else had experiences like that? Any tricks to improve click to lead to sale, rather than click to lead to nothing?

I think you should consider working with a more honest group of people. Transparency is vital. If you're targeting 25+ the quality is usually better so that's odd that you are not backing out after that audience increase. It sounds to me like they aren't being up front about it or if your traffic hasn't changed, it could be your adcopy. It may be throwing people off if that's been changed. Using boobs and showing more skin usually results in poor leads overtime because the user thinks he's going to get laid on a free social networking site similar to Facebook and its always advertised as "free" so that can play a role.
 
Well i made some more "pushy" ads in the last month, but also at the end of the month september.. and when i check out the sales statistic of my aff.manager. i recognize that also these leads converted into sales.. but they might be of previous leads.. unfortunately, i don't have much info about the sales statistic..

I try to run also some less pushy, more romantic ads .. maybe not using the word "free"..
in the month august/september i used more phrases like "Find the woman of your dreams", etc. .. nowadays more stuff like "new flirt message!" hmm

any other experiences which type of ads convert good into sales?

Those could be late leads, gotta love em' -- At this point you should talk to your AM and ask them what they're looking for to help lead value back out.

well, i know they can do what they want.. actually it's not the affiliate manager of the affiliate network, it's more the responsible person for the affiliate person of the dating site..

@lpdesigner: sorry i didn't now that "True" is actually a dating site :-) well, no.. in fact thats the first time i heard of it.. i made once some stuff with mate1 .. not bad, but not great either.. the resulting profit was not worth the efford..

if you think your leads are quality, go take the risk and go direct and get paid on sales and not leads. Otherwise, keep taking it in the ass.

PS I used to run dating on Facebook and got sales data from advertisers and it generally varied all the way from 4% to 15% leads to sales ratios. Same traffic source, huge fluctuations.

Do the math and you'll realize what the advertisers need you to hit just to break even.

won't give you sales data but will help you know if you are being scrubbed. Nobody is going to scrub (much) you if you are making them good money. If they cut your payments, you aren't.

You'd be amazed at lead gen #'s when you test...strongly recommend adhustlers method... :) It may not tell you how many conversions they get on the back end, but you will know how many leads are gen'd. Also can do this with rebills et al..just dont process the cc #'s :)

You could probably write a uBot program to automatically fill in any leads you collect on your own.

Filling the leads in yourself seems like a retarded waste of time.

Yes I'm sure the user wouldn't mind at all if he'd have to wait days for you to type in his info so he could actually use his account...
