Dealing with a spammer

I received a message on facebook chat from one of my friends who had their account hacked by an affiliate marketer. The person sent me this message:

"try this test and tell me what you get.. i can't get over like a 105, its pathetic http://somedomainredirectingtoaniqquiz.info/"

Now, I am cool with a lot of blackhat methods but hacking people's facebook accounts is pretty fucking lame.

I found one network that is running one of the offers the domain directs to... but haven't been able to locate others (assuming it's not exclusive) and haven't had any success figuring out networks carrying the other offer it's showing (looking through offervault). Any suggestions on how I could figure that out? Orrrr should I just out them?

The spammer is promoting these offers:
Welcome to the most official IQ Quiz - iq.officialquiz.net
Registration - Download Top Monophonic Ringtones, Polyphonic Ringtones, True Ringtones, Wallpapers, Mobile Games, Cellphone Screensavers - iq.officialquiz.net (which seems to have multiple landing pages)

Any the affiliate managers out there... are you carrying these?

Also, our spammer forgot to hide their whois info on the domain (maybe it's fake and they don't care, I don't really know). Either way, I did some googling and it looks like this person has been spamming for a while.

What does Wickedfire think? I'll let you guy decide the douchebag spammer's fate...
 


I'd never do something like this but I don't care about what others do.

You should notify cyber police.

What's funny is my buddy who got phished was a computer science major. He says he's not sure how it happened because he didn't type his username and password anywhere.

At least your friend Dave was able to get higher than a 105, so at least he's not a complete fucking idiot!

I havn't looked into to it AT ALL so this is complete guessing but maybe it's a vulnerability in facebook chat, that shit seems buggy as fuck.
 
It could prolly be one of those fucked up apps that steal the shit off your accounts. Ive seen an app on facebook that says click here to like this and the ad featured a dog taking a piss. Sure, let me 'click here' and while Im at it, you can have my account details.

There area lot of app/sharing scam links going around right now - People are basically tricked into sharing a link/joining an app/something similar through image overlays obfuscating the fact that they'll be sharing a link or joining an app.

I'm just waiting for some people to get sued over this. Sure, some people banked big off of MySpace phishing in the same style, but some of those people got royally fucked in the end.
 
I've got a feeling that even if you backtrace their IP and notify the cyber police they are probably sitting in a safe jurisdiction where nobody can touch them.
