I had good luck with my last dell. Went through hell and kept on ticking. Just ordered another one.

illusion - what you are calling crap is not a dell then, if it was a flat pannel 2 years ago it was samsung, in the last few years it would be samsung and the viewsonic factory, there are only 7 factories in the world that make the lcd screens. the reason they are so expensive is the falure rate at the factory. If you had an older crt monitor from them it was more than likely a sony.

I dunno what they bought, it said Dell on it and they bought it last year and it was a flat screen. That is all I know

ok, so there is a dif here, a flat screen computer monitor is a crt monitor - however I have delt with thousands of monitors with the dell brand and they are very good.

Yeah I dunno what happened, straight from the box and they weren't working. We took them to where I work and they still fucked up on every computer. 3 out of 3 monitors were screwed. We rang the call centre and was talking for like 5 hours to some indian lady who we couldn't understand.

They are flat screen and skinny model as well, I don't fucking know what they are

Yeah I definately agree with Deliguy. Toshiba makes some of the best laptops around. Have never had a problem with any of our toshiba laptops. (I work in an IT dept.) We run ~30 Dell desktops, which continually overheat and burn out the hard drives (complete data loss). Fujitsu Siemens laptops, which are ok, but a bit slow and have short battery life. We just got a bunch of new NEC desktops (Powermate VL360, with some custom changes), and they are great. NEC's support has been great, and one of the best prices. But we have never, had problems with our Toshiba Laptops. All the guys that work here have Toshiba's as their personal laptops. Gotta recommend those.

We tried Sony Vaio laptops, but they were too fragile for us (it's a school, so you know... kids). They broke too much, and in catastrophic ways (not like OS, or software breaking, like physical screws coming out kinda breaking.)

That's just my $0.02 though. Your mileage may vary.
