This is just more bullshit shell games. Like when they said they wouldn't raid medical marijuana dispensaries in states that approved medical marijuana. Then they went ahead and raided a record number of dispensaries.

Doubt this will stop the DEA from going on doing what they've been doing. And the next puppet president can reverse this with about as much effort as it takes to squeeze out a fart.

A lot of organized gang thugs...
Err... I mean police departments... aren't going to be too happy about this.

Seattle PD took it pretty well

I'm taking a trip to Colorado when this becomes legal, new Amsterdam! gonna ski and be high :D

The Seattle PD has definitely taken a lighter (public) approach to the issue than the LAPD.

But the police department believes that, under state law, you may responsibly get baked, order some pizzas and enjoy a Lord of the Rings marathon in the privacy of your own home, if you want to.

My suspicion is that folks will look at their violent rulers and enforcers as benevolent men and women who have graciously "given" them this freedom. It's unfortunate and in my opinion, a step backward in the effort to allow people to do as they will. It further yokes individuals to the arbitrary whims of their masters.

Decriminalization is better. It's hardly a flawless solution, but better than legalization, which merely regulates ownership, use, and distribution.

You just get a ticket in Mass for small amounts. Even as douchey as we are its seen for what it is, nothing more then just a joint.

A number of supporters of decriminalization are angry about them not suing. Many were hoping for a lawsuit to set a legal precedent that would encourage other states to go down the path toward legalization.

I'm at a loss for how New York never makes these lists. It's one of the most decriminalized states - and a blue state.

Possession of under an ounce is a $100 ticket (which is super easy to fight and win)

It is decriminalized to a ticket here in MN too, but the police unions seem to have too much power over the Governors.

The state legislature passed a medical marijuana bill a few years ago but the Republican governor gave it a veto on the advice of the police union. The current Democrat governor says that he will do the same thing unless it has the support of the police union.

New York might have a similar problem.

It's interesting how many people don't have a problem with the government telling them what they can do to their own bodies.

I just want all you good WF users to know that I have watched mattseh browse wickedfire with mine own eyes and I can tell you with certainty that he only reads maybe 1-3 posts in any given thread before he makes a comment.
